Room Capacity and Seating  

There are various layout options for Student Union spaces to help meet your event needs. Please refer to our Room Set Up Options chart below and our Room Seating Capacity Chart (PDF) for maximum number of chairs per seating layout.  

Please understand not all layouts will fit in all rooms. If you would like a custom layout or to-scale diagram, please contact unionreservations@utdallas.edu.   

Student Union room set up options. The options included are: Banquet with multiple round tables with seating all the way around each table, Boardroom, with two rows of table and chairs on each side of the double row, A large circle of chairs facing toward the center of the circle, A classroom configuration with rows of tables and chairs facing a lecturn at the front of the room. A crescent configuration with round tables half of the table has chairs all chairs at the table allow user to be facing front of room, A fair configuration in which tables are arranged in rows separated with walking space between rows for vendor outreach displays, A hollow square option which has tables arranged in a square with seating on the external perimeter, A lecture configuration with rows of chairs all pointing to the front of the room. A U-shaped configuration with tables and chairs arranged in a U Shape with a lectern at the opening of the U, A workshops configuration with groups of rectangular tables. each group of tables is surrounded by chairs.

Audiovisual Equipment  

Audiovisual equipment is available in the Student Union; however, not all equipment is available in each room. If you have questions about equipment available in a specific room, click on the room you want for a list of features. 

Available equipment:

  • LCD projector with audio
  • HDMI cable
  • Wireless lapel microphone
  • Wireless handheld microphone
  • Tabletop and floor microphone stands
  • Portable sound system (only for use at the Plinth or SU Green) – Includes an eight-channel mixer, two speakers with stands, one wired microphone
  • Stage (half or full)
  • Dance floor (half or full)
